Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I use the "Distinction Design" for both of the sites I write. It is a very direct design with a white background and orange highlights that allow the words to standout. It also makes it easy for me to change banners.

What techniques did you use to build this website?
The only insight I offer is to play around with the different designs and tools we have available. I like hiding/showing the border with the Distinction Design. Because the border is black, it covers up black type, but if you make the typing a link. The cursor going across shows the link in orange. Otherwise you do not see the typing at all.
