Sandvox Sites

My site is designed to promote my technology services business. I have information about my website development, audio and video digitizing, video production, technology training, and other services. I have a listing of my clients and materials I have available for download, and a price list. It's a pretty basic site, but I've gotten several jobs from it, including web design and video conversion work.

My audience is basically local people in the Peoria, Illinois area looking for website design, multimedia, audio and video conversion or technology training services. I focus on individuals, small businesses and non-profits. While I have done work for people nationally, and with technology that's certainly possible, it's much easier to meet with clients locally. I focus on people who want high quality but affordable work. I work out of my home so I can offer reasonable prices to a variety of clients.

As mentioned above, I can often offer more affordable services than my competitors because I work out of my house and have low overhead. My website is clean, looks good, and is easy to navigate. It includes examples of my video work, links to clients, a price list, and contact form (instead of an e-mail link). While most of my competitors' sites offer similar features, I would say mine looks better than some and offers more information in a clean design.

I chose the design I'm currently using for the nice abstract header design and general look of the layout. It has nice clean lines, a professional look, and some visual interest even if I have no other graphics on a page.

There's not a whole lot. I used a variety of the basic pagelets to feature different services on different pages. On the Clients page I use the photo pagelet to include home page pictures from featured clients sites that then link to their sites; my website page uses a list of links pagelet to link to client sites; I have some materials available for free using a Download List collection. I have plans for the site that would use a few more page types and capabilities, when I have the time (ha, ha).
