Describe your website.

The purpose of my site is to promote the 2nd edition of my book, Writing Winning Proposals: PR Cases, with the aim of helping to raise the bar in the public relations profession. Posts to my Weblog call out special features in the book of interest to college and university instructors. A gallery of 20 images serves to highlight a diverse array of PR cases. There is also a page titled, "PR Professionals: What's in it for you?"

Who is the target audience for your website?

People interested in my site are college and university professors who teach public relations plans, campaigns, writing and various strategic communication courses who would like to bring real world cases into the classroom with role plays written from field notes. Writing Winning Proposals: PR Cases is written from the viewpoint of clients and employers who review and approve PR plans and proposals. I have taken a bold step to define and develop rules for writing the 10 components of a public relations plan in ways that enable progress tracking and measurement. PR practitioners in organizations and agencies also would be interested in this book to sharpen their skills to write winning plans and proposals that enable measurement.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

Writing Winning Proposals: PR Cases, 2nd Edition, was written by a veteran practitioner with 30 years of progressive executive experience in the profession and nine years of teaching 50 classes in public relations plans, writing and campaigns to more than 1,000 students. Tom Hagley is a senior instructor of public relations at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

I knew exactly what I wanted to display on a Web site to promote my textbook and Sandvox provided an exciting selection of professional-looking designs. The design I chose makes the image of my book pop off the page!
