What kind of websites were you planning to build?
I chose Sandvox Pro because I have no experience with the more complicated site building software and had read really good things about Sandvox. I've been an avid family researcher for over 20 years and wanted to build my own family tree site with photos and details about each of my ancestors.
How did you hear about Sandvox?
I googled "easy mac web building" and found references to Sandvox.
What made you decide to get Sandvox?
I chose Sandvox because I had no experience building websites. I downloaded the free trial version and found that it really was very straight forward software, with good clear instruction. I wanted to be able to build my site because as my research is ongoing I do need to change things from time to time and wanted to be able to make these changes myself without having to contact/pay a consultant.
Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?
I like the ease of putting together various elements of my site like the photos being able to be enlarged and the links to any section of my family history being able to be clicked on from the home page. Considering it's my first site, I'm very happy with it. I also like the Sandvox forums, they are really helpful if you have any problems.
What would be a good way to search for a program like Sandvox?
“I've tried a couple of different designs, however I've come back to Simply Blue because it suits my site, is easy on the eyes and looks good. I get a lot of positive feedback from fellow researchers when they've been for a visit, easy to navigate seems to be the comment I get most.”
